Today I have the pleasure of bringing you the first DT post from the talented Tessa Buys!  Tessa created this layout using our "Eleanor's Garden" kit (free with purchase of Amelia's Solo - see details HERE).  Here's what she had to say about the story behind this gorgeous layout.

One of my favorite color palettes to play with is red, turquoise, black and white. I was thrilled to receive the "Eleanor's Garden" kit and instantly played up that color combo. The result? A Mother's Day layout:

After playing with strips of patterned paper, altering my background, and deciding on placement for my photos, I knew I couldn't put off my journaling any longer. I thought back over my class, Jazzy Journaling, and decided to incorporate a technique from the class: making your title part of your journaling.

I knew I didn't want to title the layout "Mother's Day." Although the photos were from Mother's Day, that wasn't the important part of the layout. To me, this page was about celebrating my children and being grateful for the opportunity to be their mother. So, I decided to title the layout "Why I Love My Boys," which in turn prompted my journaling. I wrote in such a way that the last sentence was completed by the title: "I am honored to be their mother and that's...why I love my boys."

I added hand-cut hearts to reinforce the "love" theme. I just couldn't help myself!

I also wrote a bit about the day's happenings in the upper left corner, like not getting a photo with my oldest son because the camera died - oops! All in all, the layout is in my favorite color scheme and speaks from my heart - perfect for this mother.
